Help I have clogged pores, what do I do?

This is a common question that I hear from every client with #acne. What is the best way to deal with blackheads and whiteheads?

First we must control the dead-cell accumulation and clear the follicle out. It is important that we do this together, this treatment requires at home care and an acne control facial.

Extractions are a necessary process in your treatment as well as salicylic, AHAS and enzymes in the form of peels. These help to loosen the dead cells on the skin’s surface which ease the extraction process.  The use of these and other solutions help to liquefy the solid oil accumulations in the pores and break up the masses thus improving the extraction process.

At home care is carefully monitored to make sure you are not excessively over drying your skin. There is a fine balance to finding the right products to use and many times we alternate them with active/resting products. Daily home care is the real key to  acne management and the application of mild AHAS, BHAS. Certain serums that I recommend also calm the skin and reduce the bacteria load.

Many times you will find that the clogged pores start loosening up and the count of whiteheads and blackheads is reduced. However, this is the time to continue treatment for long term success.
